The “Deluxe Duct Cleaning” is our signature cleaning using a vacuum along with compressed air, brushing, and a neutralizer. Perfect for homes that have never had a duct cleaning, new construction, people that are concerned about the amount of dust in their home, people that have physical reactions every time the furnace comes on.   Our process is described below:

Pre Setup: The technician will ask important questions like, are there any indoor pets? allergies? infants?  With these types of questions we can better serve and understand the home owner's needs.  We always do an in home estimate to locate all of the heat vents and returns.  When the estimate is completed, and agreed upon. We then start the job by covering carpeted areas with plastic runners and corner protectors if needed.  Our technicians wear booties while in your home to protect your floors.  We remove and collect all heat registers and return air grills, electronic air filters, bathroom fan grills.  These are cleaned at the beginning so that there is time for drying.  When there is a problem with the air flow or temperature, we have equipment that will rate the temperature and air flow of the vents for an additional price.

Stage one:  The technician attaches a ten-inch diameter vacuum hose to the return air side of the furnace. Then all return air openings are sealed with a plastic patch so that the debris will not blow into the home.  We start at the farthest return opening using 120 PSI of air pressure to clean out the area near the opening.  Then a large rotating brush is used to clear the return duct work. The idea is to push the debris then pull it towards the vacuum at the furnace.  We repeat the pulling process two to three times.

Stage two: The technician uses compressed air and the vacuum hose to clean out the furnace compartment and surrounding area.

Stage three: Now we move on to the heat or supply side of the furnace. The vacuum hose is moved to the exiting side of the furnace.   At this time we return all the cleaned registers and grills to their original location.  Using the brush tool to scrub the metal boots as the vacuum is running allows no dust to enter into the home.  Repeating the “push” method with compressed air to the main trunk or box.  After all heat registers have been cleaned we return to the furnace and use reverse air nozzle and brush to pull the remaining debris into the vacuum.  If any heavy debris is left we will use a standard shop vac to rid the final chunks from the base can.

Stage four: With the Deluxe Duct Cleaning completed we spray a light EPA approved neutralizer into the duct system with a high powered atomizer that mists the ducts and leaves no puddles.  Available upon request is an EPA approved sanitizer for those difficult problems.  There is an additional cost for the sanitizer.  Upon request, we will not use either.  Material data sheets for the neutralizer and sanitizer are available upon request.

Final stage: Turn the furnace on in the heat mode with our vacuum still attached to the heat side. This will evacuate any mist lingering in the duct system.  When the furnace is running with our vacuum attached we call this the “burn off” which eliminates any bad odors.  During this time, the plastic is rolled up and the areas where we worked are vacuumed.  Holes cut for the vacuum hose are now sealed with a sheet metal square then taped and metal-screwed secure.  A Du-More Service sticker is placed on the furnace.  The technician review the work with the customer, double checking his total on the invoice.  Payment is due and a receipt is given.
